I am an art historian with wide-ranging interests in medieval art and architecture, gender, books, portraiture, and the teaching thereof. My current research projects embrace gender, semiotics, heraldry, and portraiture in thirteenth-century devotional manuscripts and applications of digital methodologies to the study of art history. My teaching engages students’ sensory observations to develop their skills of critical thinking and communication about the past and the contemporary world.
